This page describes training opportunites provided by The Center for Anxiety for mental health professionals. Anxiety is often highly treatable without medication, and even severe and impairing symptoms can be effectively managed with a course of evidence-based psychological treatment. However, many mental health professionls receive limited training in how to effectively treat anxiety symptoms. The Center for Anxiety is therefore dedicated to the dissemination of cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety symptoms.
Clinical Workshops
Treating Religious OCD - July, 2012
Integrating Spirituality into Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - October, 2012
Clinical Supervision Group
Workshops are a great forum to develop initial familiarity with a clinical approach, however learning the nuances of how to practice evidence-based treatment requires ongoing supervision on actual cases. The Center for Anxiety is therefore assembling a clinical supervision group for practitioners or students who are currently providing psychotherapy to a caseload either privately or in the context of a healthcare/community setting. The focus of the group will be to provide specific direction and feedback in how to effectively deliver cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety and related symptoms, and integrate spirituality into treatment where appropriate. Groups will be held weekly for 90-minutes and run for a period of 16 weeks. Enrolment is limited to 8 clinicians. Please email for more information.
