Clinical Director

Each Center for Anxiety office location is led by a site specific Clinical Director. Duties include overseeing provision of clinical services within the office, playing a leadership role within our training program, and carrying a caseload of approximately 20 patient hours/week (including intakes, individual/group treatment, and consultation). Administrative duties include managing clinical staff, convening and running weekly clinical rounds meetings, interviewing and hiring new clinicians including trainees within our doctoral psychology internship and other training programs, and ensuring that a high level of clinical care is provided to patients. Training duties include supervising 2-4 junior clinicians (externs, interns, postdoctoral fellows), providing regular didactic seminars, and overseeing progression of trainees throughout their respective programs by providing regular feedback and guidance. Opportunities to contribute to our program-wide research program are also available, depending on skill level and interest.
Qualifications of applicants must include all of the following:
- Current licensure in good standing, or license-eligible as a psychologist in the State of New York
- Excellent leadership and communication skills including the ability to coordinate and run weekly rounds meetings, assign cases to junior staff, and provide feedback as needed to supervisees
- Significant clinical training and experience in providing Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (CBT/DBT) to adults, adolescents, and/or children, including the capacity to handle high risk cases on an outpatient and intensive outpatient basis.
- A dedication to provide the highest standard of evidence-based care.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience with administrative duties and supervision, though more junior candidates with stellar clinical experience and potential for leadership will be considered.
